My taskbar is stuck at the top of the screen after rebooting/turning off

Hello,

So I just switched from windows to Zorin 18 Core. I recently updated my graphics card and the system updates.

Now, I have an issue where the taskbar is permanently stuck at the top of the screen and all my desktop icons are gone.

This came about after two or three issues where I would get an error if I locked the screen and was forced to logout.

ALT+F2 -> R does not work.

I am unable to locate the panel under appearance options.

I am at a loss at this point as to what is going on.

Taskbar = panel, I am new this operating system. Please forgive my windows jaron.

Have you tried going into Settings > Appearance > Zorin Appearance > Layout and swapping the themes back and forth? (I'm also coming from Windows as of a few days ago!)

You could try to open a terminal ctrl+ALT+t

and reinstall Zorin desktop and Zorin appearance

sudo apt reinstall zorin-os-desktop zorin-appearance zorin-appearance-layouts-shell-core zorin-appearance-layouts-support

If it doesn't help install gnome extension manager

sudo apt install gnome-shell-extension-manager

open it and go to tab "installed". Take a look if Zorin taskbar is enabled there and also Zorin menu.
If you have installed other third party gnome shell extensions disable them for testing.
