Hey, guys so im using Plank as my dock. Where should i place it? or Where is the best position? Also if you're actually suggesting i wanna say that as possible i want to keep where the taskbar is its much more familiar to me
Hello. What version are you using ? Zorin Lite ?
Well, then it is really up to you and your use of "desktop's paradigms" ...
I will ask - what are you use to use ? What system did you use before ? Do you want familiar paradigm or try something new ?
Plank is capable of many behaviors and it is very well used among "Linux world", as well stable enough for daily use.
When i used "Voyager Linux" long time ago or even Ubuntu Mate - i like to change behavior to gain space by trying bottom and left of the screen. As Pop_Os, i tried sometimes dock on Gnome and make it behave the same way, without hiding.
I like the Ubuntu default way (Unity like), but since i used also Kde Plasma and get not so much time, i sometimes keep it simple by having simple task bar on bottom. Wayland or "X11 gestures" add fluidity at least in Gnome in my point of view.
Hope that could help.
So, You want at the End put the Dock/Plank at the bottom to replace the Taskbar?
Move the lower panel up and add "global menu" extension then have the plank in the lower of the screen.
I made a "Fun with Planks" on Solus forum you can get some ideas of:
