New computer <- Old HDD

Hi All

I need advice.
Iv'e recently bought a new computer (lenovo Legion, AMD) to replace my 7 year old (Lenovo Legion, Intel). I had upgrade the HDD in my old comp. to a 2tb nvme, so when I got the new, I quickly pulled out the 500gb (Windoze) and put in my old HDD.
For fun I tried to boot directly from the old disk (With Zorin 18.1) thinking I had to format and reinstall the OS as ussual. But! The system booted fine and with a quick update, everything seemed to work super fine... F***** A! :slight_smile:
I Am no noob, but a have very limited technical knowledge, so I asked an LLM for guidance to see if everything is working as it should (hardware-wise) It gave me the thumbs up and I confirmed this with some games and other apps. (The computer is mainly for games and media).
So everything is good, but I've noticed some programs doesn't start or respond and some can't even be reinstalled. This is mainly some flatpak-programs but also other stuff. Nothing serious.

My question to you guys, is not how to make it work. It is; should I format and reinstall the OS, as intended (with all the downloading and setting up, this means) or would you keep the OS and fix the little issues? Remember I am not that agile in linux, and mainly go through the GUI-way.

I would still perform a fresh install.

Yes, sometimes, you can swap the drive to new hardware and have no issues. But... if you are having visible issues, you know already there are many not visible ones in hiding.
It is not worth playing hide and seek with software. They can be finicky even when conditions are optimal (on any operating system.)

I would agree to @Aravisian for the fresh Install. But when You could describe in more Details what doesn't work in which Way, maybe we can fix it.
