Sounds a bit strange but when that means you can set it to 2Gig's it would be okay. Yes, more would be a bit better but when You don't use graphic-intense Stuff like Playing Games or Picture/Video Editing it should be okay.

what do you mean by picture/video edting .. like if filming a course of eg doing somthing like folk do on you tube and then editing that would that be what you mean or something more intense with graphics, etc

i'm curious what defines a 'notebook' v's a laptop

Yes, that. There would be a dedicated Graphics Card better.

If you don't edit super high resolution photo's or video's, 2GB VRAM will also be fine. The main thing is, it has a total of 32GB of RAM, so in that way, you are all set to go.

Difference between a laptop and a notebook, there are no difference. Where this comes from is, originally these portable computers, were called laptops. Then in the late 90's - 2000's, companies started calling them notebooks.

Its the same exact way that, you might call the machine that mows your lawn, a riding mower. But every single place you go to buy such a machine, will call them a lawn tractor.

Different terms, all mean the same thing.

For clarity...

I mentioned above about AMD vs Intel. It's not that you cannot choose an Intel based notebook with integrated Intel graphics or a discrete nvidia GPU. You can. I do this with an HP Elitebook 840 G5-G8 and a Lenovo gaming laptop with an i7 and nvidia 3050.

As stated above, I think an AMD based laptop with integrated AMD gpu is an easy first start since you remove the hassle of nvidia drivers. And there is no Intel ME to deal with.

And about the Intel ME (Management Engine) feature... that is in the BIOS of a lot of Intel based laptops. I take my privacy very seriously. (Kudos to the Zorin team for standing against the age verification scam.) :+1:

Intel ME is a no go. I make sure to disable it in the BIOS. And since I'm there, I erase the TPM and then disable that also. Of course, a nice new Linux based laptop without those features would be nice. There are several available if you've got the $. If not, the ones mentioned above are a good bang for your buck.

All the best to you.
