Night Light only works within the settings of adjusting the scale. Night Light was working on the first install. Re-installing it did not work

At my first install of ZorinOS the native night light function worked instantly. Somehow it stopped working properly. The night light only works while I am in my night light settings (which is set to Sunset to Sunrise), when I adjust the scale. My settings are definitely correct. Since I had this problem and nothing worked to fix it I chose to re-install ZorinOS. After re-intsalling ZorinOS on the same system, using the whole drive, the problem now persists. Since it worked on the first install, this must be a software issue. Since re-writing the whole SSD with the same OS, it must be a deeply seated software issue, that can not be resolved by re-installing the OS. Also redshift provides a software based layer on top of everything you see. It does not go to hardware level to adjust the colours. It looks ugly in comparison. That is not a solution for me. I also upgraded and updated my OS in the hopes that it would change something. There is one difference between the first and second install of Zorin OS. I lost the first USB with which I installed ZorinOS initially, after the problem appeared, I made a new USB with the same ISO in the same way, with less GB on it. I doubt that this could have relevance. Also, I am using Wayland, I did not pay for ZorinOS and I am using the most recent version I believe, if that is of any help.

P.S: Why is every linux OS always such a pain the *** when trying to do the simplest things? Every once in a while I come back from Windows, just to be confronted with something nobody else was confronted with on Linux.

Did You tried switching to Xorg?

Do you have location turned on appropriately in settings/privacy? sunrise to sunset won't work without location. You can set a manual schedule like 6PM to 7AM which may work.

I want to confirm this issue. The night light was working for me as well, don't remember when the last time was though, and I've just now noticed it 'works' the same way like for OP. Usually it would turn on after sunset, but I noticed my screen was quite blue now, so I entered night light settings. When adjusting the temperature the night light would turn on for a couple of seconds, and then turn off. Manual/automatic modes did not make any changes to this behavior. I am using Zorin on Xorg.

Do we know if this is a GNOME issue or Zorin-specific?
