I have an issue when it comes to using night mode on my MacBook. The colors don't change no matter what I do. I used the slider to change it from warmer to cold, yet no result. That said, it's got nothing to do with location services nor with the manual control. I'll explain why.
I saw a post on the web that it could have something to do with color calibration. And I fortunately was on the right track. When I setted up a color profile, it didn't work until I switched the profile on and off with night mode enabled (whether it was on auto or manual).
But when I want to disable night mode, the colors stay the same. To turn it off I would have to disable the color profile. Same goes for when I change the temperature color in night mode. For summary, it works and yet doesn't.
What I want to ask is how do I solve this so it works smoothly rather than this scuffed method. I am going with the assumption this has something to do with my old MacBook in question.
Does Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that in Settings>About. When it runs in Wayland, I would suggest to switch to X11/Xorg.
To do that, go to the Login Screen (not the Lock Screen). Simply reboot for that. On the Login Screen click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see in the bottom right Corner a Gear Icon. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in and try it again.
