Hi I have the same problem with my Acer Aspire ES1...no bootable device.
GParted shows efi system partition with boot flag and an ext4 partition and a small unallocated partition. Is this what I should have?
Grateful for any help as I would like to run Zorin from the internal emmc.

That sounds normal. Did you install Zorin OS 16 or Zorin OS 17?
have you first checked your BIOS settings?

Go into your BIOS and check your boot order... it may be that it's defaulting to a USB drive or something, which would give that error.
I got the same error when I first installed Zorin OS on my old (now dead) Dell Inspiron N7110... changing the boot order fixed it.
