I see no tick mark when I set a window to "always on top"
I'm on Zorin OS 17
This looks like a bug, as I also don't see this but it's there on Z16 (and on Debian 12). I went ahead and sent this as feedback for the developers, hopefully we'll see a fix during the next release.

Any status on this?
I'm afraid I'm out of the loop on this one. There was a feedback form that was made available during the Beta release that we could use to send feedback on various issues, but I never heard anything back from the developers. This is not to say that they aren't completely oblivious, they tend to implement features and fixes much more quietly than it's done in other projects.
On the other hand, it's true that the release of version 17 hasn't been as smooth as we all would've liked it to be. I'm guessing that this is not near the top of the list of things to work on at the moment.
