No WiFi adapters found

Why not just go ahead and install Zorin as dual boot from the ventoy stick that does seem to allow you to live boot. I'm betting the WiFi problem may not occur after installation and if it does you can still go back to the windows version you have dual booted.

I can't understand why your machine is so resistant to booting anything but windows if you truly have secure boot and fast boot properly disabled. TPM issues?? However, once installed it may be easier for this forum to give you specific tweaks for any issues that come up than it is with live USB use.

The acer wmi may be easier to fix with zorin actually installed too.

When the WLAN has worked in your live session, was it the same Zorin version as you try now? Because Zorin 18.0 Core has another kernel than Zorin 18.1 Core.

Does Your BIOS is in UEFI or Legacy Mode? Depending on that, You can set up in Rufs on the Partition Sehem Option GPT or UEFI and MBR for Legacy.

@NickS i have heard rumors that microslop did something in 24H2,25H2 and the new 26H2 that prevents uses from trying to install another OS (seems like something they might try) just a rumor but i am seeing on youtube folks having troubles now with duel booting win 11 and linux and folks finding linux gone and having to reinstall it

I have now installed Zorin 18.1 from a Ventory USB "successfully", that it said completed and asked me to restart the laptop. When I did this Windows 10 was booted and I did not get the option to boot Zorin. I have tried a number of suggestions from the internet and find I get the message "cannot find the EFI directory". When I run Zorin from the USB to diagnose this problem I was advised to install Zorin 18.1!!! I seem to be having every problem which exists in trying to get a working Zorin OS.

I presume that, if I use Windows, I should eventually see a Zorin entry in the EFI partition (viewed through the BIOS screen) which is the first partition on my hard drive. Windows is next and Zorin is after that.

UEFI. I have tried Rufus and my laptop does not recognise that (and other USB creators than Ventoy).

I have only used Zorin 18.1 and 17.3. The first and only successful use from a USB was with 18.1.

It is interesting that, when I did eventually install Zorin 18.1 from the Ventoy stick, it offered to connect me to the internet and recognised the WiFi adapter which previously it said was missing!
