Does this mean its not gonna work at all? Or I'm just gonna miss out on certain features? I mostly plan on playing <2015 titles on it
You probably will be fine.
Enshrouded complained because I was on the 545 driver instead of the 550 driver. 
The best way to know is to try games out and see. 2015 or older games will be Vulkan free; Vulkan was initially released in 2016 and even then, it was some time before it made it over to GnuLinux.

That's a relief then. I wanted to ask this first before doing any downloads as it usually take long amounts of time for my pc to install games. Thanks for the info!
