Nvidia GPU stopped working after reboot

So basically I installed my Nvidia driver before and it worked, I even did some gaming and it worked perfectly fine just yesterday but now I just booted up my PC and saw that my resolution was all messed up and my driver stopped working. Now my laptop uses LLVMPIPE instead of the driver I installed. Please help me :sob:

P.S I've also tried reinstalling the driver but I keep getting errors :sob:

Which driver was it that you installed? Can you also check if its listed (or there are other listed) in Software & Updates?

Please switch to Xorg if you use Wayland. Xorg is recommended when you have a nvidia card. Reboot and on loginscreen click on your profile, then a cog icon appears on the screen. There you set "Zorin desktop on Xorg".

What Nvidia Graphic do You have? And what Driver do You use?

You could try the Command sudo prime-select nvidia to use Nvidia Graphic primary.

nvidia driver 390

Already using Xorg
The driver was working before and then it just stopped

My pc has only the Nvidia Geforce GT540m, it doesn't have an intel driver at all... and i was running driver version 390

For this driver (nvidia 390) you need to add kelebek ppa or kernel 5.15.
Did you made a kernel update or removed the ppa?

How do i do that please? or how do i check if the Kernel PPA is added?

You can take a look at this thread. There is an instruction to install the kelebek ppa.

You would know if you have added it. You can find the added ppas at Software &Updates at Other Software.

Proprietary Nvidia driver 390 don't work with the normal 6.8 kernel of Zorin 17.3. It only works with kernel 5.15 or when you add kelebek333 ppa. Otherwise you can use nouveau driver for your nvidia card when you are no gamer and don't need the performance.

I don't think i have the PPA installed

The name would be something with

https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/kelebek333/nvidia-legacy/ubuntu/jammy main

If it isn't there in this list you have not installed it.

Thanks it works now. after adding the PPA i deleted and reinstalled Nvidia drivers and it works.
