NVIDIA not working even with secure boot

Hello everyone, new here.. install os7 looks great, runs quickly as well... problem is thus... i installed using the nivivda option, even the key signing popped up... no problem, same as it would when i used to use rocky/fedora... but. zorin doesnt seem to be loading my card, it doesnt show it in the nvivida app either..

any thoguhts?

You use Zorin 17 and not the Zorin 18 Beta, yes? You should check in Settings>About if the System runs in Wayland or X11. If it runs in Wayland, You should switch to X11/Xorg. On zorin 17, it works better with Nvidia Graphics.

To switch, go to the Login Screen, not the Lock Screen. Simply reboot for that. On the Login Screen, click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see a Gear Icon in the bottom right Corner. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in.

Then You should take a Look in the Additional Drivers Tab in Software & Updates and check what Driver is installed. And in the Terminal run nvidia-smi to check if Your Card is detected.

Quickest answer: Disable Secure Boot in the BIOS.

Secure Boot is only for Windows, and literally has 0 benefit to the average Linux user, and only adds endless suffering, as a result of having it on.

hiya, yeah thats right... changing to the nvivida open kernal works... still abit buggy though...

hiya, oh secure boot only works for windows?
