Hello everyone! I'm having trouble using Anytype on my desktop. Because of some bugs I was having with it, I decided uninstalling and reinstalling the application from the Gnome Software (Flathub) to see if it would fix it. But now the button to open the application in the store doesn't appear, it just shows the uninstall one. Not only that, but if I type in the app search in the Zorin menu it simply doesn't appear.
I also checked the flatpak list in the terminal to see if it was actually installed on the system and it was there.
Is there something I'm missing? How can I fix this?
Have you tried rebooting after doing your install/reinstall? Sometimes that can lead to fixing things like this.
If that doesn't work (or you've already tried it), you could try running it from the terminal directly and seeing what errors might popup when you're trying to do so:
flatpak run io.anytype.anytype
You could try it with uninstall again but this Time over the Terminal. Type:
flatpak uninstall io.anytype.anytype --delete-data
And then install it again.
Okay, I tried to uninstall and then install again through the terminal. But the app icon still doesn't show up in the menu.
Executing the command to run Anytype in the terminal opens the app and shows the errors it is having:
Does Your System run in Wayland or Xorg? You can check that in Settings>About. You could try it with switching and test if it runs.
I believe X11 would be Xorg, I'll try switching to see if it works.

Hmm, it seems like in Wayland it doesn't run at all.
Post number 2 and number 3 demonstrate that it should have worked using those commands.
So looking into this, I also found this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Anytype/comments/1iqre0t/anytype_doesnt_open_on_debian_stable_and_its/
These users complain that the appimage and .deb are broken - now, so is the Flatpak.
I am not sure, but at the moment, it looks like the project maintainer has utterly mangled their packages.

Yes, X11 is Xorg. So, it doesn't run at all ...
Hello everyone, I wanted to update this topic by saying that I tried to install Anytype after formatting my PC, but I got an error message.
I downloaded Anytype v0.46.4 from the download page. It's working! Thanks for reading my issue, and for helping me out.
