Openpgp-applet won't start (Python bug?)

Zorin-OS 17.2 Pro

Good morning,

tried to install the openpgp-applet from software center, but the thing would not start from this reason.

eric@athena:~$ openpgp-applet
Can't exec "gpg2": Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden at /usr/share/perl5/GnuPG/Interface.pm line 355.

While the installed gnupg seems to be okay

eric@athena:~$ dpkg -l gnupg*
||/ Name Version Architektur Beschreibung
+++-==============-=================-============-=============================>
ii gnupg 2.2.27-3ubuntu2.1 all GNU privacy guard - a free PG

Can someone check this on his system?

Out of curiosity are you using Wayland or Zorin on xorg for the compositor. Also did you install flatpak version or apt of the pgp item?

Using Xorg because of gaming and installed the native apt package for that.

Is there an alternative software, to look and manage pgpg keys on the computer?

Zorin includes facility for storing pgp keys:

Otherwise known as 'Seahorse'. My cloud is still down and internet archive is not letting me upload the unofficial manual for Zorin 17 that I wrote.

Just to update, the manual is now available on internet archive.
