When I set up my user accounts in Zorin, my general user account had an 11 character password and the Admin account had a 12 character password. When I tried to update Zorin, it would not accept either of my passwords. It looks like both accounts have 4 character passwords. So, I can't update any software.
When I turn the computer on, it automatically logs into my user account.
Is there anyway to recover the passwords short of uninstalling and reinstalling Zorin?
I think for security it probably just shows 4 dots or itcs a graphics issue. It could be the result of a corrupt .Xauthority file. I covered this in how to resolve the login loop in the unofficial manual.

It looks like I misdiagnosed my problem. It looks like my passwords are okay, I am having an issue installing an update. I will start a new topic for that issue.
