I am a casual user of Zorin core but would like to switch totally. My issue is that for my work, I scan alot of documents and attach them to emails to send to head office. Compatibility is key as I don't want the recipients at head office to have to jump through hoops to open my attachments. In windows using outlook, the PDF files are saved to the PC as chrome attachments and are easily opened by the recipient as we both use the same operating system. If I could send emails from Zorin the same way, that would be the only hurdle that I need to overcome to make the switch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
All I could find (Brave's A.I. search engine):
How to send pdfs as Chrome attachments to emails in Linux
To send PDFs as Chrome attachments to emails in Linux, you can use the following methods:
- Method 1**: Using the GMass Chrome extension**
- Install the GMass Chrome extension and enable it in your Chrome browser.
- Create a Gmail mail merge with the PDF attachments using the GMass extension.
- The extension will automatically detect the column in your spreadsheet containing the PDF attachments and attach them to individual emails.
- Method 2: Using the Send Anywhere Chrome extension
- Install the Send Anywhere Chrome extension and enable it in your Chrome browser.
- Right-click on the PDF file you want to attach and select “Send to” > “Send Anywhere”.
- Choose the email service you want to use (e.g. Gmail) and follow the prompts to attach the PDF file to an email.
- Method 3: Using the “Save as PDF” feature in Chrome
- Open the PDF file in Chrome and click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the browser window.
- Select “More tools” > “Save as PDF”.
- Choose a location to save the PDF file and click “Save”.
- You can then attach the saved PDF file to an email using your email client.
Note that these methods may have different requirements and limitations, such as compatibility with specific email services or file types.
not sure i understand ...
i frequently send and receive attachment with my thunderbird client to windows users with outlook, never had a problem.
have u tried sending an attachment to a windows user and ask them about an issue ?
PDF is a standard document format, it doesn't matter which operating system you're using. There's also nothing specific to the operating system in the email standard. Whatever "Chrome attachments" are, if Chrome is behaving differently in Windows than it does in Linux, that's an issue that needs to be raised with Google.
You can always save the file to your PC first, and then attach to the email. Or try using a different browser.
Sorry, my mistake. It's not sending the pdf files that is the issue, it's sending large pdf (a number of photos or documents for example) as sometimes I may scan 100 documents with photos and text and save those to the pc and then email them. In windows it shows on the pc as a chrome attachment which can then be opened as a url I believe and be printed on their end. And this action is automatic in windows. This is what I am trying to figure out.
