Photo thumbnails

Dear all,

I need to work on photos. I have 16.3 pro on my Acer spin laptop. I am unable to have the computer show the photo thumbnails.

I use the default Nautilus file manager. How do we fix this?

Thanks

Also, I tried dconf-editor... didn't work. Boosted it to 20 MB.

Thank you. I did that and it didn't work. Do I need to restart the computer? None of the photos are above 3 MB.

To show HEIC format, try this:

sudo apt-get install libheif1 heif-thumbnailer

What is HEIC format? Never used that before. Is it an Apple format?

Your screenshot shows files .HEIC

Thank you. I installed it and it is better, but not 100%. I get around 50% of the photos as thumbnails.

What else can I do?

Thank you.

I know. My brother uses Apple. I need to build a calendar for my dad, and I received 50 photos. Scrolling them one by one is a pain. I need a bit more help.

Thanks.

The Flathub store has various file managers that are newer than Nemo based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS that is the default file manager with Zorin. Flathub has gThumb Viewer and even KDE's Dolphin file manager which some people consider better (not me). But Dolphin is very good. Are some of those images based on WebP which is relavtively a much newer format than maybe what Nemo's old version does not support? I think gThumb Viewer on FlatHub would be a good choice and it is available on Zorin's software center.
