The picture-in-picture mode in Google Chrome and other browsers isn’t working across virtual desktops. When I enable the mode, the video stays locked to the desktop where the browser is running.
In previous Zorin versions, 16 and 17, it worked seamlessly across other workspaces. For example, I could open a video on the first desktop, and when I activated picture-in-picture mode, it would follow me while switching between desktops.
I’ve read in some places that this update changed some internal window management system, which may have caused this behavior. Is there any solution to fix it?
Welcome to the forum!
I've actually personally never done this to be honest, though it could have been a change in Wayland that may have done this. If you go to Settings->About, it should say Windowing system there. If it says Wayland, we could try switching over to X and testing then
To do so, you would want to logout, and when you're typing in your password to login, you would see a cog in the bottom right, click it, and select Zorin on X, then login as usual.

I followed the process, and it worked perfectly!
I didn’t notice any visual or usability differences when using Xorg instead of Wayland — the only change is that picture-in-picture mode now works correctly.
Thank you so much!
