Play it Slowly app

I had the Play it Slowly app on my laptop in Zorin 16 Pro and it was working. When I upgraded to Zorin 17 Pro recently, the Play it Slowly icon is still on the screen but I cannot get it to run. When I double click the icon, nothing happens.

Anyone know what the problem is and how I can get the app to run? Thanks.

Could be different things.

  1. run it via the terminal and see the output.
  2. It may not be supporting Wayland, log into Xorg and see if it works.

What commands do I need to run it in the terminal? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the app so I don't know. But you can use the menu editor which comes default in Zorin to see the command of the app.

As an Alternative to @Storm's Advice - and if You should use the Flatpak Version - You could open the Terminal and type flatpak list and look in the List how it is exactly named. Then type flatpak run [Name-from-the-List-Entry]

Another Option would be to uninstall the Program and then install it again.

I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling but when I look at the installed list of apps it does not show up. The app is supposed to be pre-installed as part of Zorin.

I was able to uninstall it. But when i do sudo apt-get install playitslowly I get "package playitslowly is not available...."

I was able to download playitslowly-1.4.0.tar.gz but don't know how to use it.

Okay, so You didn't used the Flatpak.

That only works with .deb Installers from the Repos.

This is a compressed File. When you double-click on it, you should get a Window where you can extract the Stuff in that compressed File.

I extracted the file but I still cannot get it installed. I get "E: Package "playitslowly has no installation candidate." I don't know what it is telling me.

Okay, this explains why I can't install playitslowly in Zorin 17. Thanks.
