OK, this should be in 'The Lounge' but I wanted to get as much attention about this as possible:

Given that the lounge's settings expel people for relatively brief periods of inactivity, I concur, but gaming might've been the better forum. In any case, signed.

Interesting ..... I wondered why I was no longer able to use the Lounge .... I thought I was being punished for upsetting someone in authority and was black listed .....

No, no one here would do such a terrible thing to you.

We would cook up your legs and eat them.

No problem, at all.

You can have the arms.

I was not aware of that limitation, only that you have to be trust level 3. I just checked and can still access Lounge.

No, thank You. I'm vegan. I only eat Stuff like Pig's, Cow's, Fish or Chicken. And sometimes from this Stuff called Vegetables. Weird Concept, I know.

But, that is what Food eats.

We moderators have drifted this thread off topic... :winking_face_with_tongue:

Yeah, so we better stop.

@Forpli linked the actual rules, but the short version is that trust level 3 can be lost with insufficient forum activity. My activity dropped when Zorin 18 was released as there was a mix of problems for which I could offer no contribution beyond "yeah, I'm not using 18," which is beyond unhelpful, and too many new faces for someone like me who seldom uses public forums at ALL, due to preferring a group of people with whom I'm very familiar over a large, growing group.

Between switching more or less permanently to Nobara, where I need less help because its defaults suit me better (and which is Fedora-based, so many instructions here won't work without 'translation') and being kicked from the lounge where conversation doesn't need to be nearly so topical, my activity never recovered to the level required for trust level 3. Because removal from the lounge, while automatic and in no way personal still felt like being flipped the bird on an irrational, emotional level, it's not likely my activity ever will reach level 3 again.

I still poke my head in periodically and will continue to, as with this petition request and the news that Tuxedo is rebasing on Debian, but I've got much less to say, and... certain recent events in the game industry in which I work are both what I'd most like to talk about, and am least able to, so... sigh.

I think that as a moderator, you automatically have Trust Level 3 and therefore access to the lounge. I assume moderators don't just lose that status.

Trust level 4 actually, if you look at @Zabadabadoo's profile. That's assigned, not automatic, so I'd imagine it would have to be unassigned for access loss.

I mean that trust level 3 probably is included in trust level 4.

Trust levels three and four are both able to "demote" and therefor, can lose access to the Lounge.

This issue was raised, then again, last year.

@zabadabadoo is a Trusted Member, which is automatically earned. He is not one of the Community Moderators; despite being requested to be: He does not want the job. Not that I blame him.
That makes him well suited for it, though.

On Topic:
A move like this really seeks to limit end user control and ownership over what they buy.
This is just one example of a great many - in which companies are switching over to models that afford them more control as well as greater ability to charge more money over time for a variety of access or services.

Who are the community moderators? In @zabadabadoo's profile is shown "community leader". Is it not the same as community moderator? He has all rights of a community moderator but is no one?

Some moderators have shown "community moderator", others "community leader" as title. Is there a difference?

Are only members with the shield icon moderators?

What about @zenzen? Has he left the community forum?

This is interesting. I do not see this...
In the profile, there is the Trust Level is set to leader, however:

Trust Level
leader

Sadly, yes.

While the overall statement implied a full resignation; his final statement suggested a lengthy break.
Either way, he remains in the moderator group. So his self-imposed exile is a choice, not officially acted upon by the Zorin Group.

No... We can choose from a list of pre-made titles offered in a drop down list.
I chose "Community leader" as it sounded less pompous than some of the other options.
