Today purchased upgrade, SoftMaker Office 2026. Why am I excited? Because TextMaker now supports MarkDown language which means I should hopefully be able to use it in the Unofficial Manual to replace the enlarged Courier Font I used for terminal commands. But be patient as I am in the middle of modifying children's book series in Comic Sans 36, so a 270 page book for a normal sighted person becomes over a 1000 pages long in A4 Landscape!

Hope it works out for you especially for writing the Unofficial Manuals for Zorin OS .... you put an awful lot of work into those documents .... and I for one appreciate your effort .... even though I use Mint as my daily driver I still dual boot with Zorin 17.3 as a back-up ....

Well, haven't found anything about Markdown in the help menu. I wonder ... perhaps I need to start typing somerhing like 'su' or 'sudo' and it just does it? Hmm. Time to boot up and find out!
... No that didn't work. I may have to get a refund!

OK, so what I have done is downloaded Joplin, entered a command to stop systemctl from autodiscovery of printers by 'stop cups-browsed'.
Then I formatted sudo in bold and the rest in plain text. Imported into TextMaker then manually changed the font style and the shading of the text to make it stand out. Obviously, a Text Processor cannot use markdown with its 3 reverse ticks above and below:

So, peeps, Take a look at the screenshot below:
Should I (in order that they appear in the document):
- Shade the fonts (can't get a lighter grey)?
or
- Shade the paragraph (which does have a lighter grey but goes beyond the command?
or
- Just change the colour of key commands and leave the background as is?
[Footnote: I could not find my original .docx file for the Unofficial Manual for Zorin 18 anywhere on the drive I created it on. I tried to convert pdf to Word in pdfStudio Pro 2024 to no avail, got a out of bounds error. Their helpdesk suggested maximising the memory given to the application - no difference. Sadly had to use Adobe's online conversion tool (as a trial) and it worked - so now I should be able to do a blanket change to accessible fonts, Comic Relief and Open Dyslexie.]

- Should Terminal Code be shown in the Unofficial Manual in just larger font size or
- Shade and colour fonts
- Shade paragraph and coloured fonts
- Just colour code the commands

Well @applecheeks37, your wish is my command. What is interesting is that in SoftMaker 2026 it would have been easier in that Office Suite but there was a major bug in it for me. So to get a decent shade of grey in TextMaker 2024 I am having to use paragraph shading but to limit it I am having to do coding in Text Frames! Hey ho!

Sorry but I have no earthly idea what this is all about and if it is referring to Zorin 18 I am still using 17.3 and have no plans to upgrade .... for me your Unofficial Manual for 17.3 is fine .... so I will bow to those much wiser than I on the forum .... LOL
Hi @Frog , the intention is to highlight text that is code in a similar to the way it appears as markdown text in the forum, but obviously not possible to use the copy function icon that appears on the forum:

I see like the sudo commands will be highlighted so it will be easier to just copy and paste in the terminal .... if that is a choice for your manuals you posted it looks good to me ....
If I am still out in left field smile .... have another cup of coffee or tea and forget about it .... LOL
