I wanted to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for the incredible work you’ve done with Zorin OS 18.1 Core.

I am running it on my veteran machine, a Dell XPS-8700, and the results are nothing short of a miracle. Despite its age, this "Old Soldier" is now a powerhouse thanks to your OS. Here is my setup:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 (XPS-8700)
  • Memory: 32GB RAM
  • Storage: 500GB SSD
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
  • NIC: Intel i210-T1
  • Security: SecureBoot ON
  • Desktop Theme: White-sur-Them Light (Mac-style)

The most impressive part is the stability of the NVIDIA 580.119.02 driver. Even with SecureBoot enabled, it works flawlessly—something many other distros struggle with.

To test its limits, I ran a 5-hour continuous stress test:

  1. Visuals: XScreenSaver's "Flying Toasters 1989" running smoothly in the background.
  2. Video: 4K YouTube test videos played back at 1080p60HD without a single dropped frame or stutter for the entire duration.

Zorin OS has transformed this machine into a sleek, Mac-like productive environment. It is stable, beautiful, and incredibly fast.

Good, that it works so well for You. I would like to say one Thing to Your Nvidia Card and the Driver: You should stay on the 580 Driver. The 590 Driver doesn't support 10XX Cards anymore. Only 16XX upwards.
