Please preinstall nautilus-admin in the default seed. That's a one-line change to your package list, it adds the right-click Open as Administrator on folders and Edit as Administrator on text files, and it makes Zorin objectively nicer than Ubuntu out of the box.
Hello and welcome,
Lot of user will never use it, and it's also just one line in terminal if you need it ![]()
It might be a rare Usage but when You need it, it might be good to already have it I think.
I still think it just should be installed when you really need it, so you can avoid most of newbies errors.
Anyway when you install it, what will took 2 seconds, it's a one shot, you don't need to install it again and again...
I can agree with this.
Put Nautilus in as a default, with windows users migrating to a new operating system, all they have ever seen in their lives is drag and drop.
Now to start changing OS (core file) and get told, hang on you cant do that, will instantly tell them something is off. My logic MS gives you the opportunity to break their operating systems, and that is how you learn how to fix things. (troubleshooting)
in conclusion:
Give the masses nautilus, the terminal looks like a mine field for a newbie.
Thank you
I think it's a good suggestion.
I remember having tested Nautilus on a different distro with GNOME and I was genuinely surprised how Nautilus handled root/admin access.
Perhaps I'm not the only one for whom having to write admin:// at the beginning of the path, when I just want to make a small edit to a system file, is not convenient.
