Printer Canon MG 2900

I have a printer Canon MG 2900, but canon doesn't seem to make drivers for linux (apparently). Does anyone know how i can make the printer work?

You can i have printer and canon have deb file for that and for multi printer to and network printer on the support side on swedish you can download them. my printer works  i have the deb file i can sen them to you if you want.. her the link .PIXMA MG2950 - Support – Hämta drivrutiner, programvara och handböcker - Canon Svenska Anders.

here my printer in zorin os 17,2 core

Well, it is now being recognized, but when i try to print something, it just says "The image file is not supported"
I do not even know if i am clicking on the right place tho, how do you usually put a file to print on zorin? (I'm new around here, and never used linux before, so im sorry if its a dumb question)

Hello, download the two files from canon extrat them and turn off the printer hear click on deb file for printer install it first choose software to install with then you install the same with the scanner file. then you turn on the printer, go into settings in zorin, select printer add, dendin hits the printer you can also select from the list and then all canon manufacturer drivers will appear.

I have installed my printer for network printers and scanners, everything works, even if it is possible to use a USB cable from the printer to the computer, everything works. Anders

I just did it all, and the error persists. The file doesn't have an scanner file, just the printer file. The files that it has inside, is only the 32 BIT and 64 BIT files. I really don't know what i am doing wrong...

The google drive link has the video of the error happening, i don't quite have an idea of what's happening

yes, they have them, you can download them separately, also scroll down on the suport page, you will find them included for the scanner.

scanner

right click extract file here then after downloading them

Hope you solve it because if you do the right thing and install a working printer and scanner, you can print everything. Anders

forgot hope you have installed this with from linux cups

There shouldn't be a need to install the Snap version of CUPS. I covered how to install a Canon Printer/Scanner in the unofficial manual for Zorin 17, but my Cloud service has been down for two weeks now and counting. Only just got email backup and running.

OpenPrinting CUPS

The current standards-based, open source printing system developed by OpenPrinting for Linux® and other Unix®-like operating systems. CUPS uses IPP Everywhere™ to support printing to local and network printers. i you dont have them you dont get any printer to work is standard in linux you can fid them in synaptic and in snap.

Canon Linux drivers work without the need to install CUPS. But when it comes to BSD you need CUPS and Gutenprint and IPP everywhere which is buried in CUPS.
