Printer driver asking for additional software but store cant find it

Adding my HP Deskjet D1460 to Zorin but when I search for drivers the software store opens saying cant find HP Deskjet D1400. What additional drivers is it looking for? Seems to print ok with HPcups driver.

Have you got hp-lip installed?

From the Snap store? I ran HP-setup and added another printer without HPLIP from snap so is it pre-installed? I also have a little HP Icon in my tray.

Hplip is already installed but hp-toolbox isnt so I now have access to the HP Device Manager GUI.

Follow the link and guide here (you need to scroll down the page for the Linux info):

Thanks for that. I downloaded the Latest version of HPLIP and ran the install script which said that Zorin 17 wasn't supported only 16 and then a list of dependencies that could not be downloaded presumably because Zorin is on jammy still and not noble. So I will continue testing with V3.21.12 of HPLIP.

I would also install Synaptic Package Manager. I pointed out in earlier iterations of the Unofficial Manuals that I wrote that there were driver elements that are only available via Synaptic Package Manager, although not necessarily in respect of hp printers.

Did you take a Look in Software & Updates and there in the ''Additional Drivers'' Tab if there are Drivers offered?

I didnt but it looks like the printer is faulty as leaving it idle for a few hours and trying to print it goes into error state.
