New Zorin user (17.3 Core, on ThinkPad L380), but have been using Linux for a year or so.
After a month, I love Zorin and everything working really well...except printing to my network Brother MFC.
I've installed the Brother Deb linux drivers, but every time I print (or even if I just make changes to settings > printers in Zorin) the system hangs completely for a minute or so, but then recovers. Seems to CUPS related?
Any advice on how to troubleshoot & resolve would be gratefully received.
Thanks!
Welcome to the Forum!
So, how is Your Printer connected exactly? Is it connected to Your Router or to Your PC?
Both laptop and printer are connected to a network switch.
I used the same setup under Ubuntu 22 and 24 without issue before moving to Zorin.
Thanks for your help!
Okay. Could You connect the Printer directly without the Network Switch and check if it would run?
Tried with static IPs and a crossover network cable; same issue.
As well as previously working well with this system whilst running Ubuntu, the printer also works fine with various Chromebooks and a Windows 10 pc.
Not certain what to do now...thanks!
And does the Printer works when You connect it with a USB Cable to Your PC?
