Whenever you add a repository, you need to check it first and make sure it is current and maintained.
Part of the trouble with the internet is that many people look up guides that are ten years old, then follow the instructions without ensuring that they apply to their system.
This can often be true on Windows OS too... You wouldn't have much luck using a guide for Windows XP on Windows 11.

. You can do a net search for the packages you are looking for in the FOCAL repositories.
Or, you can look for a package you need using pkgs.org and scroll down to Ubuntu 20.04.
