PROBLEM: NTFS file system

Drives formatted to NTFS in Zorin does not get recognized in Windows. I do not know what's the problem, is it kernel or something else. Stumbled on it accidentally when I needed transfer information to Windows with external hard drive. Didn't test it in terminal and GParted, just Disk application

Perhaps exFat?

Use Exfat.

This is more for developers as I got around it by formatting drive on windows before using it. If you can't fix it at least remove the sentence that format is for windows, because it will not work.

Maybe it could help to create a new partition table first.

I think you right and partition table is the reason it doesn't work. Weird that creating new file system doesn't create partition table too, especially if there is no option to make one. Seems such a pitfall.

If you were to make a new partition table to a hard drive with an OS on it then it wipes the drive. Itcs all in the planning.

Use Gparted.
