I ave a game called 'theHunter' installed using Steam and had played it for a about a half hour .... I made some mistakes in putting some items in my backpack ..... I tried to remove them ..... but no luck ..... can't remove them ...... my back pack is full and I can't add any more items which I really need ....
I wasn't to far into the game so I deleted 'theHunter' from my Steam folder on Steam and also from Zorin in ..... .local/share/Steam/steamapps/common ...... where I found all my Steam games stored .....
I reinstalled the game but when I clicked on my inventory in the game my back pack was as before with the same unwanted items installed .....
So I deleted it again and reinstalled it this morning ..... same same ..... I thought deleting a game from Steam and my laptop should have given me a new start ....
This is a Steam problem, more a specific game problem as I read it. Do you have cloud enable on Steam? Try Disable it also go to the games save/config place and delete it. To find it - try search on the games name or who made the game.
Thanks Storm ..... I did some more research and found out I have a couple of things wrong with my Steam setup .... first I was having a problem with the game not always starting and thanks to you and catlikehana I changed my Proton version again and that fixed that .....
As to the backpack I found a setting that removes ALL of it's contents and you just put back what you want ..... DUH ....
I'll check the cloud and the save/config setting and delete it there if I have to .... but it doesn't look like I will need to delete the game for now ....
This game is a bit strange .... at least for a simulator ..... most start out easy and get harder but from what I have read and my own experience playing this one it is hard to start but gets easier as you go along as you develop more in game skills ....
I don't know but before my Steam working and now a games on Steam stop working.
There was something when trying start a game "steam device failure compatibility".
Using proton experimental.
and type your game in the search bar it will show you a list of different versions other people have used to rub that game ..... I just get as close to that version as possible if the exact one isn't offered .....
Read the descriptions on the right hand side carefully as the will show you what that person used while running that game ..... I have found that 'Experimental' doesn't always work ....
You also may need to go up or down with a version to find just the right one ....
Ex. I stared with Experimental for one game than had to go to 7.0.6 and finally found that 6.3.7 actually was the one I was looking for ..... you may have to play around with it to get the best choice for game play ....
Thanks to Storm and catlikehana who pointed me in the right direction ......
