I'm having trouble using a GIMP plugin, but I believe the problem is with Zorin, due to the reasons described below.
I used this plugin a few days ago when it was still in the PETA version, and it worked correctly. I even did some work for a client.
Today, when I noticed the problem, I went to Linux Mint and tested it on the same image that didn't work using Zorin, but with Mint, it worked correctly.
I believe it's an issue with an update. Yesterday, an update arrived, and I think it was extensive because it took longer than usual to complete.
Note: both gimp and the plugin were installed by flatpack
It is installed as flatpak
Ah, I oversaw that. thank You.
@Dunham: Did You tried it with uninstall and then install again?
Hello!
Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled both the Resynthesizer plugin and Gimp, noting that both were installed via Flatpack. In the plugin, I selected the "System" option and then option 3. However, I discovered something very strange. In Zorin, the problem of Heal Section not working and the messages I posted appearing only occurs with the lasso tool. When I use the ellipse, rectangle, or vector tools, they work correctly.
I downgraded GIMP to 2.10 and locked it in, because GIMP 3+ is atrocious. Very little of it worked for me. And the changes they made to it were extremely disruptive to workflow. Layering and transparencies and moving objects is so deranged now, that I would need to completely relearn everything just to do simple tasks.
I would suggest to try the available AppImage instead of the Flatpak but I Think, You can use the Plugin's then. They would have to be included in the AppImage.
Thank you guys
I managed to solve it.
Could You explain how? If other Users have the same Issue, that could help.
Hello!
Of course. I apologize for not posting yesterday:
- I selected the lasso tool
- I selected feather edges
- I made a selection with the lasso
- I used heal selection
