GNOME Terminal 3.52.0, Zorin OS 18, 6.14.0-37-generic, Pavilion 15-cc1xx
Sometimes when I open the terminal, I can’t type anything into it. I can type normally everywhere else in the system, but not in the terminal. I can only paste text there, but even then I can’t confirm or execute the command.
I have an external USB keyboard connected to my laptop, but it doesn’t work either — the built-in laptop keyboard also stops working in the terminal.
The problem usually gets resolved after restarting the computer. Could anyone help me figure out how to resolve this problem?
Do you use other language inputs?
To narrow down if it is account specific or Gnome specific:
Have you tested in a guest or other user session?
Have you tried testing on other terminal emulators, e.g. xfce4-terminal?
Have you added any Gnome-Shell Extensions?

Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled?
Does Your System run in Wayland or X11?
Can You only not typing in th Terminal or aren't You able to use anything from the Terminal? I mean can You click on the min/max/close Buttons? Can You go in the Terminal Settings?
Secure Boot is disabled, Fast Boot is disabled. I’m using X11 because I have an NVIDIA GPU. I can normally open and close terminal windows, but I can’t type anything in them. At most, I can paste a command, but I can’t even execute it.
I’m not using any other language inputs.
I haven’t tested with a guest or another user session, since I only have my own account. I’ve only been using the default terminal from the beginning and haven’t tried any other terminal emulators. I don’t recall adding any GNOME Shell extensions.
You could go in Gnome Software and look for the Gnome Terminal and uninstall it and then install it again to see if this helps. If not, it might be a good Idea to test it with a different Terminal to see if it is a Gnime Terminal specific Issue or a common Terminal Issue.
