You can use tuxinvader or mainline to install a newer kernel.

You can disable Secure Boot in the BIOS Settings, since it is independent of Zorin OS.
There is no way of deleting it, because it is hard coded into BIOS.

To ensure that Zorin OS is up-to-date, run in terminal:

sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade

I'm in the process of wiping Windows off my 3 desktops and 1 laptop and installing Zorin OS instead. So far I've done my bedroom PC a couple weeks ago and my main PC today. Everything went smooth except that 1 secure boot update which I came here to see was it safe to update it (I don't use secure boot). After reading what I could I checked the bedroom PC and sure enough it's there too. It's been sending me updates every few days so I figured all was good.
So I guess what I need to know is should I update them or leave that update be?

So I tried to install it on my bedroom PC and had the same issue as others. I ran these 3 commands in Terminal :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:zorinos/fwupd
sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade

That got rid of the error and the update so I ran them on my main PC before trying to install and the update went away. My memory is getting really bad, sorry I can't remember who to thank.

Hi:

I just wanted to report that an update from Zorin definitely fixed the problem.

Thank you very much Zorin team.
