I recently installed Zorin OS on an x86 tablet with an Intel Atom Z3735 Bay Trall-T processor. Those who were interested in these "under-tablets" know that UEFI (bios) on them is usually 32bit, although the processor supports 64bit, so there may be difficulties with choosing a distribution. Another drawback of these tablets is too limited specifications, in my case it is 1GB RAM and 16GB MMC memory. But the price for them on the secondary market is very cheap, and it is possible to relatively easily install another OS, compared to tablets on ARM. Most often, such tablets came with Windows 8.1, but then there is the possibility of installing Windows 10 (32 bit). There were also tablets with dual boot of 2 systems - Windows and Android.
For such a tablet, ZorinOS 16 is a VERY GOOD distribution. Because I experimented with different distributions of different versions. And it seems that in all of them you need to add bootia32.efi separately so that you can boot. And I haven't been able to successfully install any of them except ZorinOS 16. But as it turned out, everything is not perfect here either - the touch display does not work properly. After installing the system, the touchscreen did not respond to touches at all, but I used the driver conversion instructions gsl-firmware and moved it to the desired folder. Now, the touchscreen responds, but not where it should be, and the canvas size does not seem to match the display size. Scrolling through the entire display moves the cursor only in the upper left quarter of the screen. The description of this driver indicates that you can change the parameters via the command line, but you need at least 6.1 kernel version. I changed my mind - I have an older kernel version. In other cases, you need to rebuild the kernel. There is also another driver gslX68X, it seems simpler (at least that's what it says), but because I don't understand English well, I don't really understand what exactly I need to do.
Your expertise with tablets is beyond most of us (especially moi! - I don't own one anyways!) But E-live might be your best bet:
