Hi to everyone. I recently bought a Chinese off-brand RTX 2060 Super video card. When I installed it and picked a driver (in this case the 570 driver series), Zorin said I needed an internet connection to install the drivers. I was surprised, since Artyom has said in the past that the drivers were included in the ISO. Or did I happen to pick a driver that wasn't "baked-in" with the ISO?
Mind you, the way I installed the card was by removing my AMD card, then plugging in the NVIDIA card and going into recovery mode on Zorin. This is an existing OS install. I had issues with the 570 drivers, and I had reason to suspect the off-brand card I got might've been problematic, too, so I am back on AMD for now, and will be getting a RTX 3060 8 GB card this week.
What driver series do you recommend I use for the RTX 3060? 535? 555?
Here is an Explanation to the Driver Situation in the Zorin ISO:
I would start with 535 and compare that with 550 and 570. But when You think that You have with the 535 Driver already a good Performance, You could simply stay on this one.
Ended up scoring a RX 6600 XT at a price I couldn't refuse (very good deal). Not only do I not have to deal with NVIDIA drivers (AMD, as you all know, is "plug-and-play" with Linux thanks to the AMD GPU drivers' inclusion in the Linux kernel), but the 6600 XT is also a better-performing card than the RTX 3060. Thanks to all.
