Some Youtubers claim that AMD APUs can run generative AI inexpensively. However, I could not find a concrete way to do that. I would have laughed out loud if I could have done that with my current 2400G, but it didn't work after all. It is not surprising that APUs are technologically and commercially limited in their capabilities.
Using an older generation Nvidia GPU seems easiest. However, I hesitant to set up a new machine because I am easily bored.
I feel that open source projects related to generative AI are becoming less active. Many of the articles I have been gathering information on it have been outdated. The stock prices of related companies are strong, but I wonder if that fad is coming to an end. I rarely show interest in what is fashionable.
