Recover deleted AVI files

Deleted AVI video files, they went to trash. There is no restore or recover option in Files (file manager), so just copied from trash to another folder, the copied file will not play; VLC issues a general error "Your input can't be opened: VLC unable to open the MRL 'file://dir1/.currentDir/fooname.avi"

What is the "MRL", does this component not get moved when copying the file from the trash? The is nothing in the source file (trash folder) except the main AVI file I want to move, (show hidden files" is selected.

I think the correct way to restore a file from the Trash is to right-click on it and select "Restore From Trash".

Careful, is right next to the delete option and that's permanent!
