Recovering work after a crash/freeze

OK, this is primarily with regard to Inkscape but it could equally apply in other applications but I was unable to find anything to recover in respect of GNU Image Manipulation Program. If you have been creating diagrams in Inkscape and there is a specific location you have recently and regularly been saving to, then chances are the item you were working on will be there. You will notice that it will have an unusually long file name, ending in digits e.g.,

inkscape-autosave-1000-4536-2020_08_27_15_49_39-001.svg

If it isn’t there, then the best place to look is the hidden ‘.cache’ folder:

If your . files are hidden, you can’t see them, then use the keyboard combination of Ctrl+ H to show them. :wink:
