Thats Xfce, which is pretty customizable, which is supposed to be the default Desktop environment of the zorin edition you have.
Still just for confidence, can you run this in terminal -
Oh. Since it is a remote connection, it is not accessing anything you configured that is out of bounds of the Remote Connection, such as wallpaper - it defaulted to the XFCE default wallpaper.

You need to start the RDP session with a command that will grab your layout and configurations when starting the destkop instead of defaulting to the base layout.

Try "TeamViewer", great RDP, you can choose to view remote background photo, or set it to no background, while in remote view.
Remote control + audio/video + file transfer, security/etc.
I've used/using TeamViewer for many years,
TeamViewer is in the "Software" centre.
Note: TeamViewer is a cross platform app, (i run it on my phone as well).
