I thought I would do a search on FSF's stance on RUST. Instead of finding a definitive answer, it came back with this (Mojeek search).
Hmm didnt know RUST was part of Microslop ...so they totaly messed up windows now they want to mess up linux as well.... i say someone get me some rope!!!!

As far as I understand the whole Rust Thing, it is a Program Language like others exist, too. There is a Security Standpoint but I'm not very technical knowing, but when I understand it right it can avoid Buffer Overflows.
And that Ubuntu replaces coreutils with uutils - which seems to be the same only written in RUST is not new, too. And it is no Conspiracy. They think it is a good Idea (of Course You don't have to share that Point). It seems to had some Issues with that but there are already Patches to correct that.
