Screen brightness and shutdown time

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! I have two questions for you:

  1. When I plug or unplug the charger on my laptop my screen brightness adjust automatically to the lowest level possible. It's definitely a minor issue, but I'd like to know how to change it.
  2. When the Shutdown or Reset button is pressed, there's a box saying that the system will shutdown in 60 sec, is there a way to lower this time?

Both of them are minor "issues", but I want to know how to change it, because I see this as a learning opportunity for knowing even more about Zorin OS and Linux.

This is usually a BIOS issue, meaning its a setting in the BIOS that you can disable. I would try that first before doing any software tampering to make it stop.
