I'm currently upgrading my computer from Windows to Zorin OS 17, and I'm having a problem. The screen keeps going dark (within 2 seconds) during boot and afterward, and only reappears when there's a change in the display (moving the mouse). It looks like the backlight is constantly turning off.
This is a problem with my computer hardware and Linux. The same problem occurs when I try to install MX for testing. I have a CSL all-in-one PC with an Intel Celeron N5100 CPU and an Intel UHD graphics card.
Is there a way to stop this behavior?
If I use the
"Try or Install Zorin OS (safe graphics)"
option on the USB installation stick, the screen is stable during installation. However, the screen goes black immediately upon the first boot afterward.
To be able to work, I open the system monitor and display the resource graph. The graph in it changes constantly, preventing the shutdown. If I close this window, the screen goes dark after 2 seconds until I move the mouse, for example. And this happens constantly.
Summary:
If there is no activity on the screen, the backlight immediately turns off, and the screen goes black after 2 seconds.
Every change on the screen makes the screen visible again for a few seconds. This already happens during the boot process.
