Screenshot Tool Ksnip

I miss the option to delay the capture in Zorin 17's (and 18's) integrated screenshot tool so that I can also capture context menus or popups. That's why I mostly use Ksnip, which offers this feature.

Unfortunately, when using Ksnip, I have the problem that the outline of the Ksnip settings window is also captured as a shadow on the screenshot as soon as I add a capture delay. So I always have to make sure that the Ksnip window is outside the area I want to capture (this cannot be avoided when capturing the entire screen).

Does anyone know how to avoid this? Is it because I use a VM?

Fortunately, two days ago I discovered a screenshot tool (gnome-screenshot) that does not produce this window shadow when adding a capture delay. But Ksnip is an easy to use tool if you also want to edit the screenshot and e.g. add arrows or pixelate areas. So I'd like to find a solution for this issue.

I found a solution to avoid the window shadow in ksnip:
In ksnip settings > options > application enable "Capture screenshot at startup with default mode". Then the screenshot is made automatically in the last used mode without opening the ksnip settings window and no window shadow is displayed on the screenshot .

Edit: This issue only exists in the virtual machine. On my LM XFCE bare metal installation ksnip works perfektly without producing a window shadow when a delay is set.

Have you given Shutter a try? It has quite a lot of Options. Spectacle (now listed as 'kde-spectacle' in Synaptic, does not work at all in Zorin 18 (unless you install kde, which is what I have done. I like Spectacle's 'Area Selection' that memorises the last rectangular area used as is what I use for screenshots of Zorin 18 as a VM in PCLOS Debian creating the Unofficial Manual for Zorin 18.

If I remember correctly, I tried both Shutter and Flameshot, but I wanted a tool that was easier to use, and Ksnip offered everything I needed.
