The upgrade failed towards the end, but I managed to resolve and on next boot was on Zorin 18.
But I'm seeing quite a few issues, such as no layouts to choose from:
The login screen is really odd too, looks very janky and definitely not right.
And it all kinda looks like Zorin 17, but with ubuntu 24.04.
So something's wrong, but I can't put my finger on exactly what.
Is there a way to do a repair install?
Can you still log in to your account?
First, check if the repositories are indeed updated to the right version:
find /etc/apt/sources.list.d -type f -name zorin* -exec grep -li jammy {} +
If this returns anything, that means you still have the old repositories. At that point, I would recommend re-installing, or perhaps attempting running the upgrader tool again, but that's up to you if you want to try it or not.
Otherwise, run that again but changing the last word "jammy" for "noble" (those are the Ubuntu version code names that Zorin OS 17 and Zorin OS 18 are based on, respectively) to make sure there is some results.
Before going any further I need to give a mandatory disclaimer that you proceed at your own risk. The Zorin OS developers have themselves admitted the upgrader tool is still in its early experimental stages, and bugs are expected.
What the following does is not equivalent to a full upgrade, just installing the desktop which, depending on how far in the upgrade process things failed last time, might be enough to recover. You should definitely make any backups of critical data that you have in the PC before proceeding.
You can try then to re-install the desktop:
sudo apt reinstall zorin-os-desktop
Yep, can still log in fine.
One oddity I noticed this morning is that on the login screen there's options for Ubuntu, and it was set to Ubuntu (Default):
I've now logged in to Zorin Desktop on Wayland shell and the themes are now working, although I believe that I should have a choice of more than the 4 shown for 18 Pro?
Another oddity is the selections for some of the settings don't show in the tray menu:
Fortunately the menus when clicked on do work so I'm able to change them.
Definitely no jammy repos. That command returns nothing. I went through all the additional PPAs last night and got rid of some and updated others to noble.

It is actually mostly running ok, but I'm conscious that I have an install that isn't quite right which is likely to cause me issues further down the line if I don't resolve now.
That seems to have improved things a bit. When I first installed it hung on logging in, so I dropped to root shell and retried which looks to have resolved it.
The entries in settings now show up:
Still only have the choice of 4 themes and login screen still looks the same.
I can live with it for now because everything else is working ok, save for the odd minor issue.
Would it be worth reporting to Zorin to see if they can help?
For the Layouts try:
sudo apt reinstall zorin-appearance zorin-appearance-layouts-shell-core zorin-appearance-layouts-support zorin-appearance-layouts-shell-premium
After this make a Reboot.

This the lightdm display manager, you should try to set gdm3 display manager which is Zorin's default.
Try with:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm3

In case it helps others, here's the response I got from Zorin support:
Please note that adding third-party kernel modules would count as an unofficial system modification and as such might not be fully supported by the upgrade process.
As it appears that you've been able to recover the system after this kernel panic, we don't notice any actions you would need to take to maintain a working Zorin OS 18 system.
However, if you wish to be more reassured that your system isn't missing any standard packages that would normally be pre-installed in Zorin OS 18, you can try re-installing the base system metapackages – which should pull in other recommended system packages. To do so, you can open the Terminal and enter these two commands:
sudo apt install --install-recommends zorin-os-minimal zorin-os-standard zorin-os-desktop zorin-os-keyring
sudo apt reinstall zorin-os-minimal zorin-os-standard zorin-os-desktop zorin-os-keyring
