when I have a good internet connection everything works fine (mozilla, the app store, etc.) when I have an internet connection of about 55%, none of the examples I gave above work. Can someone help me please?

I use the laptop in my room where the signal is not very good
I can easily see how a poor signal could cause packet loss and net drop. I think the only viable solution is to boost your signal or ensure that you use the notebook nearer to the wifi emitter.
If you are able to use both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi, try using 2.4 as that frequency should pass through walls a little better than 5GHz.
You could also maybe change the wifi channel on your router if the one being used is also being used by neighbours and subject to interference.
