Settings app not opening

It's me again. The settings app refuses to cooperate (it doesn't open), suspiciously after I ran the command to enable the performance power plan. Any explanation as to why it's happening?

Have you tried Log-out/Log in OR a Restart to see if that corrects the bad behaviour?

What do you get if in terminal you type:

gnome-control-center

I've actually tried both and still nothing. I'll try the command and give an update.

Update: This is what I got in terminal:

(gnome-control-center:6167): cc-power-profile-row-CRITICAL **: 18:47:24.513: cc_power_profile_row_get_radio_button: assertion 'CC_IS_POWER_PROFILE_ROW (self)' failed

Websearch using "cc-power-profile-row-CRITICAL Gnome Ubuntu 22.04"
Found this: Will this Settings (GNOME Control Center) bug fix ever get into 22.04? - Support and Help - Ubuntu Community Hub
and this: Bug #2028438 “gnome-control-center crash with assertion failure:...” : Bugs : gnome-control-center package : Ubuntu

Look at the Comments from that last link. The last comment. That may give a solution.

That worked, thanks.

Was it this that worked for you?

After reinstalling the Settings utility "sudo apt-get install --reinstall gnome-control-center" then setting to "balanced"

If yes, please mark it as :white_check_mark: Solution to aid others.
