I love customisation 
. And I am new in Conky and it's actually hard to find widgets online. So if someone use Conky share your widget! It would be easier for new comer to customise there desktop 
I loves conky.
You might also specify which wdigets you wish to use... and be sure to specify which desktop.
This way, we can post customized scripts or specific conky scripts, too.
No dock/taskbar?
He may have it hidden and using the mouse hover technique to show it when needed .... just a guess
