I know that Zorin is the surname of Antyom and Kyrill, two young men that I respect and thank for creating an operating system that meets my needs perfectly Perhaps I have an overly active imagination but the name Zorin conjures up an image of an ancient warrior or gladiator in my mind. So, I have created an image of Zorin the gladiator that I picture in my mind as he wanders the land of Linux slaying Windows and placed Zorin the gladiator on my desktop. Now I call your attention to the calendar on the upper right. This is a proprietary calendar program, not open source. It lives on my desktop and through the magic of Caldav it syncs my online calendar, iphone and Evolution calendars so if I make any changes or create an event or appointment in any of my calendars it shows on all of them. So if I enter an upcoming appointment or meeting on my Iphone I see it on my desktop when I turn on my computer. Nice. The name of the calendar program is Rainlander and has an installation package on its website. Rainlander has a free and paid version. The free version displays events from a .csv file. The paid version ten dollars for a license for unlimited number of devices and gives the Caldav option along with other bells and whistles. I have been using Rainlander for many years and find it very useful.
I have moved Your Comment to this existing thread because it fits to that.
I even like it very minimalistic and everything is at hand, I don't like to look for anything in principle..
The Wallpaper is cool!
Hey Steve, how did you achieved the colored borders in Nautilus?
Do not tell me that is the difference between Z18 core vs pro ...
in the software store search for a program called Rewaita
you can use that to enable a border around Nautilus.
best of luck Steve ..
Oh, that is interesting!
You can use the gnome extension "Rounded window corners reborn" to get colored window borders. You can set any color of the color palette, the width of the border and the border radius. Zorin 17 users can use the gnome extension "Rounded window corners" instead. You donβt need to use rounded corners - when you set the radius to 0, you get rectangular windows.
Another option to get colored borders around the windows is to use another gtk theme, e.g. graphite gtk theme from vinceliuice. But with the gnome extension you are much more flexible.
I will not try this extension there are too many crash with it, I suggest to avoid it if you want have a stable system
On my Zorin 17 VM with the "rounded window corners" extension I didn't notice crashes and have always enabled it. Maybe the reborn extension is worse or makes conflicts with the Zorin extensions.
Nice one as always @Storm ![]()
I take it that is dual-monitor setup? Or is it a mammoth curved 4K one?
