What is the easiest way to create a shared folder so that my windows network PC's can drop files to and fro. At the moment I have just a printer that is sharable on the wine/windows network.
I have an old 500 GB NAS (Network Area Storage) drive that plugs directly into the router... it's available all the time and doesn't rely upon any computer being on for the drive to be available.
You can buy a NAS enclosure, add a drive with the size you want, then plug it into your network. Here's one such NAS enclosure:

All of my Windows Pro versions had SMB disabled - kind of annoying, but easy fix. And of course, no issues from my Linux boxes!
