sometimes when i shut down, the pc hangs while in the shutdown process. then i have to force shutdown. (win11 and zorin dual boot)
Do You have Secure Boot and Fast Boot ins BIOS turned off?

I have a slow USB stick and if I put a 3gb file on the stick and restart it will hang until the file transfer has finished. Could it be that your PC is clearing the caches?
Press escape or f1 to see at what point it hangs.
no i didn't have any usd drive connected

You can turn this off. This is what I had to do to install Q4OS on a separate HDD to the Win11 24H2 on youngest's PC. It still able to boot in either OS.
Then please turn it off (Fast boot, too if available) and then test it again.
