I have Zorin 18 Pro installed on a iMac Late 2015. Everything is working execpt long boot times and sleep issues with prolonged black screen. It has an AMD graphic card. Have others solved this issue?
Welcome to the Forum!
Does it go automatically in sleep Mode or manually? Does it behave the same either Way?
Either automatic og manual sleep, it takes a long time to wake up again, eventually it does.
Hello,
I know that some Macbook Pro from 2016 experience a similar issue and it seems to be related to the Apple's NVMe controller and the fact that it is all proprietary.
The workaround for the Macbook Pro might work for your Imac: GitHub - Dunedan/mbp-2016-linux: State of Linux on the MacBook Pro 2016 & 2017
You have to run this as sudo from the terminal application, so something like that:
echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000\:01\:00.0/d3cold_allowed
Then try to put your imac into sleep and see if it changes anything.
Unfortunately it did not change the slow wake up from sleep.
